في عمق كل فرد منَّا الكثير من العقد والأمراض النفسية التي يتعايش معها من دون أن يدري، ومن خلال شخوص هذه الرواية تم الربط بين أمراض نفسية وإجتماعية كانت القاسم المشترك بين الجميع، مما ولَّد رغبات انتقام وإنحلالاً أخلاقياً وتمرداً على القيم.
لا بطل للرواية، فالكل أبطال عبر مواقف تدور في مجتمع تحكمه القيود التي تعيش مسيرة الأفراد، وبحكم أن رغبات النفس البشرية هي من يُحركنا لذا نبقى ندور في إطار أفكارنا وقناعاتنا المحكومة بالماضي.
الرواية نسيج من الخطوط المتشابكة بين أفراد ارتبطوا بمكان واحد هو مدينة الدمام السعودية في توليفة بين تاريخ المكان وتاريخ الشخوص، حاولت جمعهم ضمن نطاق هذه المدينة في محاولة مني لإظهار معالمها التي أعرفها جيداً، والتي لم يُسلَّط عليها الضوء في كثير من الروايات.
تدور أحداث الرواية في سبعينيات وثمانينيات القرن الماضي التي شهدت فيها الدمام الكثير من الأحداث التي ولَّدت نسجاً شخصياً للكثيرين من دون أن يدركوا أن تراكمات التاريخ ولغة المكان هي من يتحكَّم في كثير من مشاهد حياتهم.
