"الأطلس الجغرافي للعالم الإسلامي" أطلس جغرافي علمي في منهجيته، ودقيق في محتوياته، يعتمد أحداث الأساليب في الرسم الجغرافي، وأحداث المعلومات الجغرافية والاقتصادية والسكان لدول وأقاليم العالم الإسلامي بشكل عام، ولما كان هذا الأطلس يتبع منهجاً جديداً في العرض فهو يقدم أولاً ولكل دولة أو إقليم إسلامي خارطة توضح الطبيعة الجغرافية لهذه الدولة أو ذاك الإقليم.
ومن ثم يقدم وعلى الصفحة المقابلة للأولى خارطة تطبيقية لأهم الأنشطة الاقتصادية للدولة أو الإقليم المعنيين، وفي ذيل هذه الخارطة تم إثبات جدول احتوى على أهم المعلومات الجغرافية والاقتصادية والسكانية عن الإقليم أو الدولة محل البحث، ومما تجر الإشارة إليه هو أن هذه المعلومات تتوافق مع آخر الإحصائيات الميدانية في هذا المجال، وبالرجوع لترتيب دول وأقاليم هذا المعجم نلمح اهتمام منفذ المعجم بترتيب الدول والأقاليم الإسلامية جميعاً ترتيباً ألفبائياً، وذلك وفق المنطوق العربي لتسمية الدولة أو الإقليم، مجرد من أي إضافات أو لواحق، من مثل (جمهورية، مملكة، سلطنة، دولة إقليم)، هذا الترتيب طبق على مختلف الأقاليم والدول ما عدا دولة واحدة هي المملكة العربية السعودية، حيث جعلها المؤلف في أول كل الدول والأقاليم، وذلك احتراماً للبقاع الطاهرة التي انطلق منها نور الإسلام. وفي آخر صفحة من المعجم أثبت فهرساً عاماً لجيمع الدول المدرجة في الأطلس، كما وأثبت على صفحة الغلاف الداخلية مخطط عام للمدينة المنورة.
