خلق الله سبحانه وتعالى الإنسان فجعل الذكر والأنثى يكمل بعضهما بعضا وأمدهما بصفات كل منهما عن الآخر. وقد يتمكن الرجل أو المرأة في بعض الأحيان كن أن يتدبر شؤون حياته بمعزلة عن النصف الآخر، ولعل مرد هذا كما يرى مؤلف الكتاب إلى أن كل من الجنسين إنسان كامل اقتضت المشيئة الإلهية أن يظهر كما يليق به.
وهو هنا يستعرض جوانب الكمال في هذين الكائنين فيقدم في الفصل الأول شرحاً لعلم نفس المرأة والرجل. بينما يعرض في الفصل الثاني لحقوق المرأة والرجل الاجتماعية في العالم، قبل أن يقدم دراسة مقارنة للوضع التشريحي والفيزيولوجى لكل منهما في الفصل الثالث وهي محاولة إزالة الرأى الخاطئ والسائد لدى أغلب الناس بأن في الرجل أو المرأة نقص أو عيب ما. فيعرض أولاً إلى مقارنة تشريح جسم المرأة والرجل ثم يتحدث بعد ذلك عن فيزيولوجية هذين الجسمين.
كما يقدم في الفصل الرابع دراسة مقارنة للوضع النفسي في المرأة والرجل وهو يركز تحديداً على قوة الاستيعاب الفكرية المسماة "الإدراك". أما في الفصل الخامس فيقدم تحليلاً نفسياً للرجل والمرأة ومن خلاله إلى بحث اللاشعور والصراعات النفسية وتفسير الرؤيا والآليات الدفاعية. أما الفصل السادس فهو مكرس لبحث موضوع القابليات الفنية لدى كلا الجنسين واستعراض قابليات كليهما بالنظر إلى المواهب الكامنة فيهما.
ويقدم في الفصل السابع لمحة عن مراحل نمو الإنسان فيتطرق خلال ذلك إلى التعلق، المحبة، الثقة، الاعتماد، السادية، الماسونية والتوحد الذاتي. أما الفصل الثامن والأخير فيشير المؤلف فيه إلى أنماط الرجال والنساء الأربعة حيث يذكر سمات وخصائص كل نمط بالاعتماد على خصائص y و x الوراثية والصفات والسجايا المكتسبة أيضاً.
