أما مهارات التفكير فهي عمليات محددة يمكننا ممارستها واستخدامها عن قصد في معالجة المعلومات لنصل من خلالها إلى هدف محدد. ومن هذه المهارات: الاتصال، القياس، الربط، المقارنة، التلخيص، الواقع والخيال، الطلاقة، التسلسل، التنبؤ، التفسير، إدراك الأخطاء، الاستنتاج، تحديد الهدف، الشبه والاختلاف، النظر في البدائل، التصنيف، حل المشكلات، التحليل والتركيب، وأخيراً اتخاذ القرارات.
لا تقتصر هذه السلسلة على تعريفنا على هذه المهارات، وإنما على كيفية تطبيقها في:
الفيزياء والكيمياء والأحياء والرياضيات والحاسوب والبيئة واللغة العربية واللغة الإنكليزية، وهو ما قد يسهم بشكل قوي وفعال وعملي بالارتقاء بمستويات الطلاب والمعلمين والمدربين في هذه المجالات المعرفية لأبعد مدى.
