لطالما شكلت الصحة هاجساً لنا جميعاً، وخاصة عندما يبدأ الجسم شكله بالتغيير ولكن بطلة روايتنا "أميرة" للكاتبة فاطمة المرزوق، تعدت الأرقام المتخيلة، هي أميرة نعم ولكن بلا تاج ولا حراس ولا حتى قصر، كان همها اللعب، والأكل، والأرجوحة، بدأت علامات السمنة عليها منذ الطفولة وازدادت مع تقدم العمر، فأصبحت تعاني من نظرة الآخرين لها، حتى حرمت من المدرسة والإختلاط مع الرفاق " فلطالما سألت نفسي ما الذي يحدث في الخارج؟ وكيف هي المدرسة؟ وكيف هو صوت الجرس؟ ..." وعندما صارت شابة قرر الوالد تزويجها لأول من قرع الباب، وهنا تبدأ أميرة رحلة شتاءٍ أخرى، إذ لم يعرها الزوج أي اهتمام، وفوق هذا وذاك، كان يعاني من مرض نفسي وهلوسات ترسبت في ذاته منذ أيام الطفولة، وبعد معاناة شديدة تحصل أميرة على الطلاق وتبدأ في العمل في مستشفى بقسم التغذية، وهناك تتعرف على من هو أسمن منها "قلت له لعلّي أواسيه: وأنا كذلك سمينة، تبدين بجانبي كالعصفور تماماً ..." ، عند هذا المنعطف تبدأ حياة أميرة بالتغيير التدريجي حتى أصبحت ترى الحياة جميلة، وأصبح لديها دافعاً قوياً لخسارة الوزن "لم تكن رحلتي هنية فالحمية تحتاج إلى صبر وكذلك إرادة ولكنني امتلكت إرادة من حديد لا أدري من أين أكتسبها ..." ، "والآن وبعد أن أتممت قراءة هذه الرواية ماذا تنتظر؟" – تقول لك الروائية – لم يعد لديك حجة تتحجج بها ولم يعد لديك الوقت لتقول (السبت راح أبدأ) أبعد عن رأسك كل ما يؤرقك وقف مع نفسك أمام المرآة وقل بكل ثقة أنا أريد إذاً أنا أستطيع .. نعم أستطيع".
