يعرض هذا الكتاب في الباب الأوّل لمفاهيم الاستشارات عن بعد سواء كانت الاستشارات النفسية والأسريّة والتربويّة، وخاصة منها الاستشارة الإلكترونيّة، عندما تصل الاستشارة مكتوبة عبر الإنترنت للمستشار، والّذي يقوم بدوره بكتابة جواب السائل. وكذلك الاستشارة الهاتفيّة، عندما يتصل السائل بالمستشار، ليسأله مباشرة، ويجيبه على سؤاله في حينها، وعلى الهاتف. ومن أهداف هذا الباب مساعدة المستشارين على مهارات تقديم الاستشارة عن بعد، حيث ازدادت الحاجة إلى هذا النوع من الاستشارات في هذا العصر.
بينما في الباب الثاني، يعرض الكتاب لأكثر من مثة سؤال وجواب من الأسئلة الكثيرة التي أرسلت للمؤلّف، والتي قام بالجواب عليها في حينها. وقد تنوعت هذه الأسئلة بين العديد من المواضيع النفسيّة والطبيّة والأسريّة والتّربويّة وغيرها.
