من أبرز مزايا علماء شيعة أهل البيت عليهم السلام إحاطتهم بالحوادث الواقعة ومعرفتهم بمستجدات أزمنتهم وتأثيرهم في واقع المجتمعات التي يعيشون فيها، ومن هؤلاء الأفذاذ المرجع الديني المحقق والمفكر الإسلامي السيد صادق الحسيني الشيرازي الذي يؤكد في كل مناسبة على ضرورة التفقه في الدين والتحلي بالأخلاق الفاضلة والإقتداء بأهل البيت عليهم السلام حتى أطلق عليه البعض "رائد الفقاهة والثقافة" كيف لا، وهو الذي يرى أن "مهمة المرجع ومسؤوليته النهوض بمستوى الأمة ... وأن يرفع واقع الأمة على الأصعدة الفكرية والإجتماعية والسياسية والإقتصادية ...". من هنا اختار الأستاذ أحمد عبد الرحيم مؤلف هذا الكتاب تسليط الضوء على (الجانب النهضوي الميداني) للصادق الشيرازي ودوره في خدمة أبناء المسلمين من الناحية الثقافية والإعلامية (الإعلام الفضائي الشيعي – الديني) وحضوره ودعمه لهكذا مشاريع. وكما يورد المؤلف – أكثر من (20) قناة فضائية، تبث برامجها بأكثر من (10) لغات". هذا، بالإضافة إلى الندوات التي تناول فيها الشيرازي قضايا معاصرة ملحة وكان له رأيه. يقول المؤلف: "ومن أبرز ما تتميز به هذه المرجعية النهضوية هو رعاية وتأسيس الصروح العلمية والثقافية ومراكز البحث والدراسات والمكتبات العامة ... ومن هذه المراكز "مؤسسة الإمام الشيرازي العالمية" ، "جامعة أهل البيت عليهم السلام العالمية" ، "مؤسسة الشعائر الثقافية (...) إضافة للحوزات والمعاهد الدينية في إيران والعراق وسورية والكويت والبحرين والسعودية وغيرها ...".
يتألف الكتاب من قسمين: القسم الأول عن: الدور الثقافي والإجتماعي، والقسم الثاني عن: الدور السياسي والجهادي والحقوقي، وأخيراً مواقف متفرقة حول بعض الأحداث العالمية والإقليمية.
