يضم هذا الكتاب محاضرات ودروس في اللغة والأدب والنحو والبلاغة كنت قد القيتها على الطلبة خلال سنوات سابقة.
وهي تضم مجموعة من النصوص الأدبية المختارة من الشعر الجاهلي والإسلامي، وقد قمت بشرحها شرحاً مفصلاً، ودرستها دراسة أدبية، تعرضت فيها لدراسة العاطفة والخيال والأفكار والموسيقا.
وقد لجأت إلى هذه الدراسة كي أُعيد دراسة النص إلى سالف عهدها، وهي دراسة تقليدية، إلا أنها تصقل موهبة الطالب وتعينه على تلمس جوانب الجودة في النص وتنمي لديه ملكة النقد الأدبي المبني على قواعد وأصول سليمة.
وتجعل الطالب قادراً على تذوق الأدب الجيد والحكم عليه بعدما يحلل القصائد ويدرسها دراسة أدبية.
كما أنني تعرضت الدراسة بعض القضايا النحوية بإيجاز وإختصار، وقد اخترت بعض المواضيع التي تعين الطالب على الدراسة الأدبية وتساعده في فهم النص فتعرضت إلى دراسة الكلمة وتقسيمها إلى اسم وفعل وحرف وتعرضت إلى أنواع الحروف وتحدثت بشكل موسع عن معاني أحرف الجر، ثم تحدثت عن الميزان الصرفي والفعل المجرد والمزيد ثم تحدثت عن الإعلال والمصدر واسم التفضيل.
وفي إطار الحديث عن البلاغة تحدثت عن الفصاحة والبلاغة، وبحثت في علم المعاني وتعرضت لأضرب الخبر ثم تحدثت عن الإنشاء وأقسام الإنشاء الطلبي ثم تحدثت عن التشبيه وأنواعه من بليغ وتمثيلي وضمني ثم تحدثت عن الإستعارة والكناية والمجاز.
