في جديده الأدبي، ينهل لؤي عابد من قاموس العاشقين، توليفات جميلة، تستند على ترجمة معاني الحبّ ويقدمها ضمن مشاهد حسية وتخييلية وتصورات مبثوثة في عالم لا يعرف لغته سوى العاشقين.
هكذا في "أريد ذلك الحب" تتموضع النصوص في جدل (التماهي) مع الآخر/ المرأة بوصفها ذاتاً لصيقة بالشاعر؛ وروحاً تسري في وجدانه؛ تمنح الحياة له، ومن هنا يمكن النظر إلى شعرية لؤي عابد في جاذبية الصورة الحسية والذهنية والحلمية التي يقدمها لنّا، وما يثبت هذه الرؤية القراءاتية حيثيات الاشتغال الشعري في معظم نصوص المجموعة.
تحت عنوان في "عيد ميلادها" يكتب الشاعر لإمرأة تساوت حروف الحبّ مع حروف اسمها فيقول: "... إمرأة../ لا أخفي حبها../ هدية من السماء../ امرأة../ مجبور على حبها../ فلا مثيل لها بين النساء../ امرأة../ خضع لها قلمي../ يداعبها حرفي../ أحملها في كتبي../ تجاورني في بيتي../ أحرفها../ بداية أوراقي...". هكذا، تعانق لغة الشاعر خياله عندما يكتب عن المرأة، وهو يلتقط أجمل ما فيها من صفات ويترجمه شعراً وبهذا يكون قد احتل مكاناً حقيقياً في الأمكنة الصالحة للشعر.. الشعر الحقيقي.
