في روايته "المشي في حقل الألغام" يكتب صلاح الدّين أقرقر عن القهر الاجتماعي لذلك هو يبحث لأبطاله عن وطن آمن فلا يجده، عن عملٍ منظم فلا يجده، عن غدٍ أفضل فلا يجده، فحياة أبطاله أشبه بمن يمشي في حقل ألغام، كلّ خطوة يخطونها هي مشروع انفجار مميت، معظمهم يهلكون في وسط الطريق، والقليلون منهم ينجون بأعجوبة. فإلى هؤلاء الناجين يبعث برسالته. في هذه الرواية ستقرأ عن "أحداث صادَفَتك، وربما عشتها أنت من قَبل" مما يعني أن المرور بالتجربة أمراً واقعاً لا محالة، وهذا هو حال بطلا الرواية: "أحمد الناصري" العالق في ظلال ذاكرة تؤرقه يستعيد بها مشهد استشهاد أخيه التوأم على يد جماعة إرهابية، والقابع في ظلال بطالةٍ لا تطاق لسبع سنين عجاف لا مخرج منها. و"فاطمة البوكيلي" التي تتربع على عرش المعذبين في الأرض دون منازع. سرق منها عمها شرفها، وسرق منها الموت أبيها، وسرقت منها أمها حياتها بخيانتها لأبيها، وآخرون تكفلوا بسرقة كبريائها وعزة نفسها.. إلاّ أن الحياة دائماً لها مفاجآتها ومصادفاتها.. فتلك المحفظة التي عثر عليها "أحمد" يوماً ستقوده إلى حبه الأزلي "فاطمة" سينتشل الواحد منهم الآخر من ضياعه وسيبنيان معاً جسراً من الأمل بعد اليأس.
