حدث لي ذالك إبان ولادة أحد أطفالي. فقد كانت عملية الولادة شاقة جداً وإعتراني نزيف شديد. وسبق للطبيب أن عدل عن إنقاذي وعندئذ أدركت وجود جماعة من أناس يحومون عند سقف غرفتي وكان جميعهم أفراداً كنت أعرفهم في السابق وقد إنتقلوا إلى الحياة الأخرى. وكانت اللحظة تلك رائعة بسنى إشراقها.
في كل مكان من العالم ثمة آلاف من الناس قد نجوا من هذا الوضع ويدلون بشهادات كهذه تربك الأذهان وتثير فضوليتها وغالباً يلبث هذا الحوار هو ذاته، فالإنسان الذي يعتبر ميتاً على الصعيد السريري، يشعر بأنه يخرج من جسده، فتمضي روحه وتندرج عندئذ في نفق يتألق في نهايته نور يفوق المعتاد. ففي مكان من سلام وجمال، يستقبل هذه الروح كائن من ضياء، يكشف لها كل ما جرى لها من حوادث طوال حياتها، لكن هذه الروح تعود، آسفة، إلى داخل جسدها ويستعيد الإنسان وعيه. هو ذا كتاب يربك القارئ لكنه يحرره من كل خشية وخوف.
