رشيد مجيد ابن الناصرية طفل أوري، عابد للقمر من مدينته، التي قضى السبعين عاماً في ظلّها، يغني وجد الجنوبي ورفعته الجريحة...
رشيد مجيد لم يكن يوماً خريجاً لأي المعاهد العلمية أو الأكاديمية، ولم يكن حامل شهادة أو قارئاً كبيراً، بل كان مضاءً بموهبة نادرة ومشحوناً بشاعرية كثيفة، حتى إن معرفته العالمية باللغة والنحو والصرف والعروض كلها كانت وليدة فطرة ونبوغ عاشت معه وواكبته كزوادة أو كجرح.
ورشيد مجيد منشد لشعره، يعيش غنائيته الملتهبة وعرقيته في كونهما عنصري الشاعرية التي لديه، لأن انتمائه للعراق لم يكن مجرد "شهادة جنسية" كما تسمى في الأوساط الوظيفية، بل لأنها كانت بالنسبة له، وهو الذي لم يترك العراق إلى بلد آخر-ينبوعاً شعرياً كالحلم وكالرؤى التي تملأ قصائده.. ولهذا فهو شاعر "بلا هوية" وديوانه الذي يحمل رائعته "وجه بلا هوية" يؤكد ذلك، والمقصود أن هويته العراقية الرسمية التقليدية لا تعنيه بقدر عراقه الرقد في مقابر أور، أو المعبود قمراً وثنياً من زقورتها، أو المحمول الطمي والدم والدموع، وقد قضى عمره السبعيني يبحث عنه ولم يجده، فذوى وخبا في انتظاره...
رشيد مجيد، ملحمة جنوبية عراقية بكل شيء فيها، بلكنتها الناصرية، وبجرحها الأعلى جنوباً وبامتدادها فراتاً وبنشيجها قصيداً، وبسطوعها قمراً معبوداً وببطلها عاشقاً أبداً.
