ابن سعيد الغرناطي الأندلسي هو علي بن موسى بن محمد بن عبد لملك بن سعيد الغرناطي نور الدين أبو الحسن المؤرخ المالكي ولد سنة 610 هـ دار البلاد من مصر والشام وبغداد وبصرة ثم الحرمين ورجع إلى أفريقية. سكن تونس، وتوفي بها سنة 685هـ وله مصنفات كثيرة منها كتابه الذي نقلب صفحاته" الغرب في محاسن حلى أهل المغرب" وقد ألفه لمحيي الدين محمد بن الصاحب بن ندى الجزري. وأما طريقة الكتاب والمنهج الذي سار عليه صاحبه في سرد مضامينه، فإن ابن سعيد عمل على تصنيف البلاد تصنيفاً مرتباً. فكلما ذكر بلداً ذكر كوره وما يحيط بها من أنهار ومنتزهات وكل من وفد إليها من ملوك وأدباء وشعراء فبدأ في كل بلد بذكر طبقة الأمراء فطبقة الرؤساء، ثم طبقة العلماء، ومن ثم طبقة الشعراء، وبعدها طبقة من الأشخاص الذين لم يذكر لهم نظم بالإضافة إلى ذكر النوادر لإبعاد الملل عن القارئ. وقد استمر ابن سعيد مادة كتابه هذا من المسامرات والمشاهدات والروايات الشفوية، والمصنفات التي ألفت حول الأندلس والأدب الأندلسي ذاكراً مصادره وكتبه التي أخذ عنها ويمكن القول بأن هذا المصنف "المغرب في حلى المغرب" هو من مفاخر ابن سعيد ومحاسنه وقد جمع فيه بين العلم والأدب، والجد والهزل، وعلى كثرة ما جاء فيه من علم ومعرفة بالأدب واللغة والشعر وغيره، يطلبه طالب الأدب كما طالب العلم، وهو يمتاز بسلاسة الأسلوب ونصائحه البيان، وقراء اللغة، ودقة التعبير، وتحديد الأسماء والتمييز بين الأوصاف والعبارات.
