لم أصدق أنّ حماراً يمكن أن يقود رجلاً عاقلاً حتى سمعت الحكاية من صاحبها، حاولت التأكد من صدق روايته، فتساءل عن مغزى محاولاتي القائمة على الشك بأن للماء لون السماء، أقسم بأن لا علاقة للخيال بما يرويه، فألمحت إلى أن البعض يصادق على كلامه بأغلظ الإيمان لكونه يخفي رغبة في الإمتناع عن سرد الأحاديث كما وقعت، أو لأنه يعبر عن رغبة دفينة في الخلط بين الخيال والواقع لشكه في حقيقة التاريخ الذي يعيشه، إن وجدت.
حركت رأسي محاولاً نفض ما علق به من ترهات الحياة، وعزمت على إستخلاص العبر بالتعرض لحمار قاد مسيرة دامت طوال عشرات السنين، شرعت في توثيق ما حفظته الذاكرة من مشاهد حية، عَرضَ صاحبها حيثياتها بقدر ما فرضها عليه الحماس أحياناً والعناد المبالغ فيه أحياناً أخرى، وشروط الواقع المؤلم، وتداعياته المستمرة حتى الآن.
