لما كان علم أصول الفقه هو المدرسة التي يتخرج فيها الفقيه، والجامعة التي يجب أن ينتسب إليها كل من أراد الاشتغال بالفقه، فإنه من الأهمية بمكان أن تتسع أقلام المختصين بالكتابة فيه، وبيان قيمته، وفضله، وأهم الأبواب المشتمل عليها.
ولما كانت أبواب هذا العلم تتفرع إلى ثلاثة: (أولها – الماصدر، وثانيها – الحكم الشرعي، وثالثها – طرق الاستنباط) فقد أردت أن أدلي بدلوي في هذا العلم الواسع، والبحر الممتلئ باللؤلؤ، والجواهر، علَني أضيف لبنة في صرحة الشامخ، وفي فنه المضيء.
وعليه فقد كتبت في هذا الكتاب أهم المسائل المتعلقة ببياني الحكم الشرعي، وطرق الاستنباط، وما يتعلق بهما من فنون هذا العلم.
وقد راعيت فيه السهولة قدر الإمكان، والاختصار الملائم، كي لا يكون شاقاً على أذهان طلاب العلم الكرماء، علّه يكون بداية لفتح يفتح الله به عليهم من هذا العلم، ومن غيره من العلوم الشرعيه ما شاء.
