كثيراً ما يتساءل البعض عن سبب الإختلاف بين المذاهب الإسلاميّة في الأحكام الشرعيّة، على الرغم من كون مصادر الحكم الشرعيّ - الكتاب، السنّة، الإجماع - واحدة عند الجميع.
فهل يا تُرى أنَّ منشأَهُ يرجع إلى إختلافهم في تعريف هذه الأدِلَة ونحو دلالتها؟ أم إلى الترديد في حُجِّيَّة القياس والإستحسان والإستصلاح والعرف و... ؟ أم مردّه إلى تشعّب مشاربهم في معطيات الأصل العمليّ والدليل اللفظيّ؟ أم مرجعه إلى النزعات الفرديّة والضغوط السياسيّة و... ؟...
بين أيدينا أمر عبادي مهم سنسلِّط الضوء عليه ليتَّضح لنا مدى عمق جذور الإختلاف وماهيَّته في مصداق واحد، وهو: (وضوء النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم).
فكيف وقع الخلاف بين المسلمين في هذا الأمر المهم؟!...
ولِمَ اختلف في مثل الضوء، ذلك الفعل الذي كان يؤدِّيه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لعدّة مرّات في اليوم على مدى ثلاث وعشرين سنة، بمرأىّ من المسلمين.
للإجابة عن هذين السؤالين وغيرهما؛ نقول: لا بدّ من تنقيح البحث بشكل دقيق يخضع للمنهج العلميّ الحديث، وإخضاع جميع ما ورد بهذا الشأن للدقّة والتمحيص: لقد اختلف المسلمون تبعاً لإختلاف الصحابة في نقل وبيان وضوء رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على نحوين ونهجين رئيسيين، وكان لكلٍّ منهما - على ما وصل إلينا من السلف - أتباع وأنصار، من صحابة وتابعين لهم يذودون عمّا يرتؤون، ويقيمون الأدلَّة والبراهين على ما يذهبون إليه.
