من جميل ما قاله بعض أهل العلم قديماً: العلم خزائن ومفتاحه المسألة. وقيل أيضل: السؤال الحسن نصف الجواب.
ولهذا كان من طريقة الأئمة الفضلاء والعلماء الأجلاء، سؤال من يرون أنه أعلم منهم وأفقه.
وقد مشى على هذا المنهج علماء الكويت، فهذه مجموعة من الأسئلة موجهة من قبلهم إلى العلامة الشيخ عبد القادر بن بدران الدمشقي.
والرائد في هذه الأسئلة والمتقن لصيغتها هو العلامة الكبير الشيخ عبد الله بن خلف بن دحيان الحنبلي، فقد أرسل جملة من الأسئلة وأجاب عليها العلامة ابن بدران بكتابه المشهور: "العقود الياقوتية في جيد الأسئلة الكويتية".
ثم إن العلامة ابن دحيان أرشد بعض سكان مدينة الكويت إلى أسئلة أخرى ملحة أجابهم ابن بدران عليها بما في هذه الرسالة "روضة الأرواح".
كما أن الشيخ مؤرخ الكويت عبد العزيز بن أحمد الرشيد قد أرسل إليه يسأله عن حكم الصيد بالرصاص، فأجابه بـ"درة الغواص في حكم الذكاة بالرصاص".
ولم يقتصر العلامة الشيخ عبد الله بن خلف على أسئلته لابن بدران، بل إنه كان يسأل علماء آخرين هم بمرتبة شيوخه أو أقرانه في العلم.
ولأهمية هذه الرسائل والفتاوى وندرتها كان من الواجب حفظها والحرص على تدوينها، وقد رأى محمد بن ناصر العجمي من المناسب جمعها هنا في مكان واحد، ليستفيد منها أهل العلم والفصل، ويعرفوا أن أعظم صلة بين العلماء هي العلم، فهو خير وسيلة بينهم، كما أنه من المناسب أن يطلعوا على تلك الأسئلة والأجوبة عليها، ليعرفوا مصادر العلماء ومذاهبهم في هذه الأجوبة، وهي كذلك تصور لنا مكانة علماء الكويت، ورغبتهم في تحرير تلك الأجوبة، ومكاتبتهم للعلماء وحرصهم على الفوائد ودقائق المسائل.
