تخيّل فتاة جميلة، تعطّلت سيارتها، ضحك حين قفز إلى جانب خياله أن النساء لا يقدن السيّارة، مع ذلك واصل خياله، تخيّل أنه يساعدها في إصلاحها، لم يفكر في أنه لا يعرف في الميكانيك شيئاً، تخيّل أنه يصلح السيّارة فقط؛ ثم تشكره الفتاة، وتُغرم به، تقول له إنه رجل شهم وكريم؛ تقول له إن الصدقة ساقتها لتتعرّف إليه، وتقع في غرامه، تصارحه بحّبها له من أول نظرة، يضحك علي.
يهشّ بيده شيئاً أمام وجهه، يهشّ بقايا الضحكة التي علت وجهه... وهو لا يعرف من النساء غير أمّه، وأخواته، لم يرَ بنات عمّه منذ بلغن التاسعة من عمرهن، غطّين شعرهن، بنات خالاته يهربن من وجهه حين يرينه داخلاً إلى البيت، طالبته أمّه بأن يعلن عن وجوده حين يدخل إلى البيت، قالت له: عليك أن تتنحنح، صار في كلّ مرّة يدخل فيها إلى البيت يتنحنح، أو يقول بصوت عالٍ: يا الله.
حين يكون في البيت نساء غير أمّه وأخواته، يسارعن إلى حجابهن، أو إلى غرفة البنات، يهربن من وجوده، استمتع في ثانية بشعور الخوف الذي ينتاب بنات عمّه وبنات خالاته حين يهربن من وجهه، استشعر الرجولة تتدفّق في عروقه، صار يشحن حنجرته يتنحنح قوي، يريد أن يُلقي أكبر قدر من الرعب في قلوبهن...
