تجمع هذا الكتاب بين دفتيه، ركناً هاماً من أركان الإسلام، وهذا الركن هو الصلاة، والتي هي عمادُ الدين، وأول ما افترض الله تعالى على الناس من دينهم، وأول ما يُحاسب به العبد، فإن كانت تامَّة كتبت تامَّةً، وإن كانت ناقصة ردَّت عليه.
ومعنى ذلك أن الصلاة لا تقبل إلاَّ إذا أحسن العبدُ التَقَيُّدَ بأركانها وواجباتها، وعلم ما يجوز فيها وما لا يجوز، وعلم أيضاً مبطلاتها ومفسداتها، إلى غير ما هنالك من أحكام تتعلق بها تجدها في هذا الكتاب مفتتحاً بكتاب الطهارة وما يتعلق بها، فالطهارة هي شرطٌ لصحة الصلاة، ولا صلاة لمن لا وضوء له.
