عقد المؤتمر الدولي العشرين للوحدة الإسلامية بموضوع "سيرة الرسول الأعظم صلى الله عليه وسلم من أجل إيجاد مجالات الإتحاد والتضامن بين بلدان العالم الإسلامي والتآزر الفكري بين العلماء والمفكرين لبحث وجهات نظرهم العلمية والثقافية في مجال سيرة الرسول الأعظم صلى الله عليه وسلم وتأثيرها في تكريس الوحدة في الفترة ما بين 17-19 فروردين / 6-8 إبريل 2007.
وقد شارك في هذا المؤتمر 165 عالماً ومفكراً من 46 بلداً من بلدان العالم، ومنها تركيا والعراق والعربية السعودية وسوريا وتونس وروسيا والسودان ومصر والكويت وعمان وفرنسا والمغرب وأمريكا وباكستان واليمن بالإضافة إلى مشاركة المئات من العلماء والمفكرين الشيعة والسنّة من مختلف مناطق البلاد.
وقد بحث المشاركون في هذا المؤتمر المواضيع التالية التي جاءت في متن هذا الكتاب وهي: 1-الخصائص الذاتية لسيرة الرسول الأعظم صلى الله عليه وسلم بما يشمل أخلاقه الإنسانية والإيمانية والعبودية لله عزّ وجلّ وتعامله مع الأسرة والمداراة والتساهل والقيادة للأمة وإدارته الإجتماعية والتعادل في شخصيته وغيرها؛ 2-الخصائص الإجتماعية لسيرة النبي الأعظم صلى الله عليه وسلم بما يشمل الشورى وحقوق الإنسان والعدالة الإجتماعية والتقدم العلمي والإقتصادي والثقافي والوحدة والإلتزام المتبادل والجهاد الإسلامي والدفاع عن كيان الأمة؛ 3-الخصائص الثقافية والحضارية لسيرة الرسول الأعظم صلى الله عليه وسلم بما يشمل الشمولية في الأخلاق والعدالة والدفاع عن المستضعفين في العالم وثقافة الصلح والتعايش السلمي والرؤية المستقبلية وإرساء العلاقات العقلانية بين إتباع الأديان السماوية وثقافة الحوار المنطقي والرؤية الإنسانية للبيئة والتسامي المعنوي للبشرية.
وقد أرسل ما يزيد عن 100 مقال إلى أمانة الهيئة العلمية للمؤتمر وقد حظيت 70 منها بتأييد الهيئة العلمية للمؤتمر وسوف تنشر هذه المقالات في كتابين باللغتين العربية والفارسية.
