كان ينقص مريم، طالبة كليّة الطّب، أن تأخذ قراراً بالتّحرر من مشاعرها تجاه عمر؛ حب أسرها أمامه لسنوات دون أن يعطيها مبررات كافية لتحتفظ بكل هذا العشق.
لقاؤها المفاجىء بحبيبها السّابق والذّي لم يتوقف عن حبها يوماً، يضع قلبها على عتبة أُخرى للحقيقة لتجد نفسها مع مشاعرٍ مبتورة، تماماً كأعضائنا المبتورة التّي تُبقي لنا ذاك الألم الذي يُسببه غيابها، فلا تجعلنا ننساها لنواصل حياتنا بعدها. إنه العيش مع وترٍ ضائع.
لكُلٍ في هذه الرّواية وتره الضائع، فهل من سبيلٍ لاسترداده؟
