ولدَ فيديريكو أندَهازي في سنة 1963 في حي "كونغريسو" في وسط بوينيس أيريس، الأرجنتين، لأب هنغاري (بيلا أندهازي) كان شاعراً ومحللاً نفسياً، وأم أسمها جوانا ميرلين.
في سنة 1996 حصلت روايته الأولى "عالم التشريح" على الجائزة الأولى المقدمة من "مؤسسة فورتابات"، لكن صاحبة الجائزة – أماليا دي فورتابات – أعلنت عن رفضها لقرار لجنة الحكم في مقالة نشرتها جميعُ صحف بوينيس آبريس كنت فيها أن الرواية "لا تساهم في تمجيد القيّم العليا للروح الإنسانية".
قامت بعدها أماليا دي فورتابات بإعفاء لجنة الحكم المؤلفة من: ماريا أنجيليكا بوسكو، راؤول كاستانينو، خوسيه ماريا كاستينييرا دي ديوس، ماريا غراناتا، وإدواردو غودينيو كيفر، وبعد هذه الفضيحة توقفت المسابقات الأدبية التي كانت تنظمها "مؤسسة فورتابات".
في سنة 1997 قامت دار "إيديتوريال بلانيتا" بنشر رواية "عالم التشريح" التي تربعت على عرش الكتب الأكثر مبيعاً في الأرجنتين ثم تُرجمت بعد ذلك إلى أكثر من ثلاثين لغة.
في روايته الأولى الإشكالية المترجمة هنا "عالم التشريح" يعود أندهازي بقرائه إلى عصر النهضة في سخرية مبنية على وقائعَ تاريخية تدور حول عالم تشريح يحاول جاهداً أن يشق طريقه في عالم عصر النهضة.
وفي هذه الرواية يقع ماتيو كولومبو على إكتشافٍ يضاهي إكتشافَ البَحارِ الإيطالي الذي يحمل اسمَه؛ إذ يكتشف البَظر ويتسبب في فضيحة للسلطات الدينية والدنيوية التي كانت تحكم إيطاليا في القرن السادس عشر.
وفي الوقت نفسه تدور الرواية حول قصة حب كولومبو المأساوية للعاهرة الجميلة مونا صوفيا، كما تنسجُ سردَها حول العلاقة بين الدين والعلم، والحب والجنس، والرجال والنساء، كل ذلك في نثرٍ ذكي يتقلبُ بين الشاعرية والسخرية من الأبحاث والإكتشافات العلمية.
