ترتقي المرأة في شعرية بدر السنعوسي لتشكل بعداً ذاتياً من تجربة الشاعر، فيكتبها قصيدة "كل امرأةٍ أحببتْ أسميّها قصيدتي الأولى"، من هنا انتخب الشاعر السنعوسي لمجموعته عنون (القصيدة الأولى)، وبهذا تقترب هوية العنوان من التجربة الذاتية، ذلك أن بين النص، والعنوان علاقة تكاملية.
في "تساؤلات" يقول الشاعر: "ويسألوني من تكونْ... حبيبتي من تكونْ... ويسألونْ... ويبحثون... عن دخانْ... يطير فوق الظنون... في شجر الصفصاف... في قمم الماردُ... وفي عمامةِ المُلِكْ... يفتشونْ... وعن يداك يبحثون... لِم تفتشون وعنها تتساءلون؟... عن المقدسة... زمردية العيونْ... من صيرتْ شِعري دَماً... وعاصرت كل الفنون".
إن الشاعر يتغزل بالمرأة... الحبيبة في قصائد تغني نفسها من مخيلة طافحة التساؤلات وتأتي الكتابة، لتجسد هذه الأخيرة، وتجيب عن السؤال، وعلى هذا المنوال يمضي خطاب الشاعر متكئاً على بعض البنى الأسلوبية، كالجملة الدرامية عن طريق الفعل، وحركة الحدث "يفتشون / يبحثون"، وعبر دلالات ممتدة داخل النص بطريقة دينامية تسهم في تكثيف الإيحاءات، والأبعاد داخل صور شعرية دالة، على حبّ الشاعر وإحترامه للمرأة إلى درجة أنه كتبها قصيدته الأولى.
يضم الكتاب قصائد في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "أزميرالدا... قصيدتي الأولى"، "أقدم إعتذاري"، "فأنت يا حلوتي"، "إنتحارية في غرفة الإستجواب"، "فلتبحثي أكثر"، "عنترة مع التحية"، "خصرٌ ثائر"... وقصائد أخرى.
