(العلوَ للعلي الغفار) العنوان الذي اختاره الاستاذ "حسن بن علي السقاف" لعلمه هذا بعد أن خرَج أحاديث كتاب "العلو" الذي الفه الإمام الذهبي، في محاولة للتمحيص في تلك الأحاديث، والوقوف على حقيقة الروايات والأقوال التي جمعت في ذلك الكتاب حول موضوع عقائدي مختلف عليه وهو تشبيه الله تعالى ووصفه على شكل إنسان. "... حيث أن كثيراً من تلك النصوص التي يعتمد المشبهة والحشوية عليها مقتبسة من مثل كعب الأخبار أو وهب بن منَبه أو ابن سلام ونحوهم أو من كتب أهل الكتاب(...) وهذا أمر لم ينتبه له كثير من المشتغلين في الأحاديث والآثار المتعلقة بموضوع الصفات (...)" وعلى هذا اعتبر الأستاذ السقاف أن هذه الأحاديث مردودة مرفوضة حسب القواعد الإسلامية المقررة في القرآن الكريم والسنَة النبوية الصحيحة فبيَن موقف نصوص القرآن من الإسرائيليات وغقد في تخريجه لأحاديث كتاب العلوَ فصول للنظر فيما قالت به غالبية المذاهب حول (المجسمة والمشبهة) والتي يبدأها فيما ورد من احاديث حول الاية القرآنية قال الله تعالى: "إن ربكم الله الذي خلق السموات والأرض في ستة أيام ثم استوى على العرش"... إلى غير ذلك من آيات الاستواء. فما الذي قاله الصحابة والتابعون وأئمة التفسير في هذه الآيات... الجواب بين ثنايا هذا الكتاب القيم الموثق بصفحات من المخطوط الأصلي لمختصر العلوَ...
