ما هي حقيقة العلاقة التي تربط واشنطن بالكيان الصهيوني؟! هل هي علاقة قائمة على مصالح استراتيجية مشتركة بين الطرفين لا يمكن فصلها، كما كانت تطرح الكثير من الأحزاب والقوى العربية؟! أم أنها قائمة على "مصالح اقتصادية، أو نسق ديني، أو ثقافي وفكري؟!" كما يقول البعض الآخر، وبالتالي هل فعلاً من يصوغ السياسة الخارجية للولايات المتحدة، تجاه منطقتنا العربية هو "اللوبي" الصهيوني، حتى ولو كانت هذه السياسة تضرّ بمصالح واشنطن مع العرب؟!
يطرح الكتاب سؤالاً في غاية الأهمية، لتحديد طبيعة العلاقة الصهيونية-الأمريكية بشكل دقيق وهو:"أين الحقائق.. وأين الأوهام في كل هذه الإفتراضات؟!".
يخلص البحث في نهاية المطاف الى نتيجة مهمة في تحديده لتلك التخوم وهي: إن قوة جماعات الضغط "اللوبيات" ومن ضمنها "اللوبي الصهيوني" في الولايات المتحدة، لا تقارن بالقياس الى قوة تأثير التكوين الثقافي الذي أنتج ما بات يعرف بالتحالف بين "المحافظين الجدد" و "اليمين الديني المسيحي المتصهين"، الذي يلعب اليوم دوراً حاسماً في صياغة استراتيجيات الهيمنة الأحادية للولايات المتحدة على العالم، وفي هذا السياق، لا يتعلق الأمر بـ"لوبي صهيوني مؤثر"، بمقدار ما يتعلق بـ"صنّاع سياسات"، و"صانعي قرارات"، هم أكثر إخلاصاً لإسرائيل من كثير من اليهود-الصهاينة، الذين ينشط عدد كبير منهم في منظمات اللوبي الصهيوني في الولايات المتحدة.
