-ألا تجد معي أن الإنسان يقيد نفسه بالمخاوف؟! المخاوف التي يبتدعها هو نفسه في كثير من الأحيان؟ ولنأخذ على سبيل المثال الحياة في تلك البلدة، فالناس هناك مكبلون بمخاوف تخطر ولا تخطر بالبال.
-لكن الكثير منها يبدو واقعياً ومبرراً!...
-أنا أزعم أنه ليس هناك ثمة واقعي مقدر من الغيب.
الواقعي هو ما يصنعه الإنسان، وبوسعه إن شاء أن يغيره، كل ما يحتاجه هو الإحساس بالحرية، وربما شيء من التهور والمغامرة، مغامرة التفكير الحر، أتعلم أن ما توصلت إليه منذ زمن غابر، ولم يفعل الزمن شيئاً مع تقادمه حيال هذه النتيجة سوى تأكيدها، هو أن الحياة تشبه اللعبة التي وضع الإنسان أسسها وقوانينها، هو نفسه من رسم دائرتها ووقف في مركزها محاصراً نفسه بما جادت به مخيلته من قيود وأوهام وأكاذيب ومخاوف.
وهنا تكمن الطرفة الكبرى، إذ أن الإنسان سرعان ما نسي ذلك وهو يقف مذعناً خائفاً متورطاً بهذه الأوهام والأكاذيب والمخاوف، لا يعرف كيف ينفك منها أو يتعامل معها أو يجيب على الأسئلة الناتجة عنها، إنه مأزق حقيقي، لكنه - وربما تتفق معي - طريف وفكاهي!...
