في كتابه "صناعة الأمة الإسلامية" يكشف الكاتب عباس نور الدين عن المشروع النهضوي الإسلامي الذي جاء به الإمام الخامنئي، وبكلام آخر الخطة التي تحرك الإمام الخامنئي وفقها في قيادة المجتمع وتحديد مسؤوليات جميع الشرائح ضمن رؤية شاملة لبناء المجتمع الإسلامي الجديد.
ولمعرفة لبَ عملية التغيير والإصلاح التي قادها الإمام الخامنئي والتي هي –برأي المؤلف- عملية قيمية تهدف إلى تثبيت القيم السامية في ثقافة المجتمع الإسلامي، والقضاء على ما علق بها من قيم سلبية أدت إلى انحطاطه وصيرورته لعبة بيد الأعداء (...). وحتى لا يبقى الانحطاط قائماً لا بد من ترسيخ قيم بديلة وهو ما سعى إليه سماحته بجعلها "ثقافة يمارسها الشعب ويطبقها من خلال مؤسسات قوية وبنية إدارية صلبة".
مع قراءة هذا الكتاب نتوضح للقارئ المبادئ النظرية لنهج الإمام الخامنئي ونغني بها الدولة بمفهومها الواسع بحسب الرؤية الدينية –الإجتماعية للإسلام والتي لا يتحقق معرفتها إلا بمعرفة العقيدة ووضع سلًم لقوة الدولة وضعفها، وانخراط الجميع في عملية القضاء على الظلم، بكل أشكاله، ولتحقيق تلك الأهداف يركز المؤلف على أهمية الوعي، يقول "ولكي يتحقق الأمر، يجب أن يمتلك الناس الوعي المطلوب فيما يتعلق بحقوق جميع الموجودات، بالإضافة إلى سعي الجميع ضمن حركة منظمة تضاعف من نتاج وفعالية مساعيهم أضعافاً كثيرة".
