De facon peut-etre plus adequate que toute autre, la lettre qaf symbolise la guidance donnee par Rene Guenon a l'Occident car celle-ci, selon l'enseignement de Michel Valsan, aboutit au coeur du tasawwuf, c'est-a-dire a la doctrine muhammadienne transmise par le plus grand des maitres, vivificateur de la Religion d'Allah et de l'Islam essentiel. C'est bien la la ''Boussole infaillible'' qui guide vers la lumiere du Sceau de la Saintete muhammadienne, et la ''Cuirasse impenetrable'' car cette doctrine s'appuie, sans rien lui associer, sur la Loi totale et universelle de l'islam.
Depuis Frithjof Schuon jusqu'a Science Sacree, nombreux sont ceux qui se sont ecartes de cette voie valsanienne. C'est a eux que s'adresse ce verset: ''En verite ceci est Ma Voie Droite, suivez-la ! Ne suivez pas les chemins qui vous separeraient de Son chemin ! C'est cela qu'Il vous recommande: peut-etre garderez-vous la crainte pieuse!'' (Cor., 6, 153).
Le mot qui designe le chemin est sabil; un des sens de sabil est jihad. L'expression traditionnelle fi sabil Allahi, couramment employee pour l'aumone, signifie aussi ''dans le saint combat''. La couleur du Saint combat ear le rouge, celle de l'oiseau de feu sur la Montagne polaire, symbole du Coran Glorieux et de la puissance du qaf.
