هذا هو الكتاب الأول من سيرة الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم العهد المكي، يتحدث عن سيرة الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم من مولده صلى الله عليه وسلم إلى هجرته إلى المدينة المنورة، قدم فيه ثلاثين درساً، وتحدث كل واحد منها عن موضوع من موضوعات حياته صلى الله عليه وسلم مبرزين أهم ما جاء فيه من مواطن القدوة بأساليب متنوعة، مثل الأسلوب القصصي أو الحواري، والسرد، وحرص على تبسيط الموضوعات، وصياغتها بأسلوب سهل شائق، وراعى فيها ما بين الطلبة من فروق فردية لتكون في مقدور الجميع منهم واستعداداتهم.
وقد تضمن الكتاب بعض شروح الكلمات الصعبة تحت عنوان أتعلم والفوائد التي تغني الموضوع استكمالاً لبعض ما يحتاجه الدرس من معلومات، كما تضمن الكتاب بعض الوسائل التعليمية، والأنشطة المتنوعة التي ترتبط بالمحتوى، وتتناسب مع قدرات التلاميذ. ووضع في نهاية كل درس من هذه الدروس مجموعة من الأسئلة التقويمية المتنوعة التي تعمل على تنمية فكر التلاميذ، وتثبت ما يتعلمونه من هذه الدروس. وقد اعتمد في أخذ المعلومات على عدد من المصادر السليمة من الخطأ والتشويه والانحرافات، كما وثقت الآيات والأحاديث الواردة في النصوص في ثنايا الكتاب.
