كل ما أعنيه في هذا الكتاب، هو التعبير عن وجهات نظر تجاه آراء، طرحها بعض الفلاسفة والمفكرين والمنظرين والمبدعين الذين تناولوا جانباً حساساً في ما يتعلق بدور الوعي الفـني والجمالي في عملية استلهام الحقائق الجمالية، والإفصاح عنها بواسطة الفن، والكشف عن البِنى القاعدية والتاريخية والمعرفية والفنية والتراثية والروحية والفكرية والجمالية .. سواء في تطابق وجهات النظر، أم دحض وتفنيد الأفكار التي رأت الفن والجمال في الوجود رؤية ســـطحية، وتوضيح الآراء المتباينة وتعددية المناهج المختلفة، التي حددت وظيفة الفن في بنائية الحياة. وعلى أية حال، نحن ننظر إلى الفن بوصفة قوة تنشأ من قدرة الوعي الإدراكي لقيم الجمال الكامنة في محتوى الأشياء، كون هذه القيم، تُمثل الخصائص الجوهرية المكوّنة لبِنية الوجود، وكون الفن يبحث عن جلال السرّانية الجمالية المتأصلة في كينونتي النفس والواقع، وبيان تأصيل الفن في محتوى التراث. مع تأكيدنا على ضرورة العودة إلى التراث، بوصفه الوعاء الذي يحتوي جُلَّ مخازين القيم التراثية التي تمثل الارتكاز القاعدي والمعياري في عمليات الكشف عن سرّانية المطلق في عمليات الإبداع الفني والجمالي .
