عندما يعترف كاهن القرية لزوجته؟!!... الطبيعة وحدها في تلك القرية الجميلة الهادئة، والغنية بكل الثمرات والمحاصيل، كانت منتظمة الإيقاع، معتدلة الفصول، ما عدا... دورة حياة أهلها الإجتماعية، ذكوراً وإناثاً؛ وإناثاً على الأخص.
الإستثناء الوحيد كان "آدم" ليس آدم أبو البشر طبعاً، بل السيد آدم، أبو القرية العجوز الذي لم تعكر صفو حياته حوّاؤه بالغواية والأكل من ثمار الشجرة المحرمة، ربما لأنه لم يعد بإستطاعته مضغ وهضم "الثمرة"... مما دفعه إلى نوعٍ من حياة الرهبان الشاقة: العمل في الأرض وجني الثمار.
كل واحد في القرية كانت لديه مشكلة في حياته الإجتماعية، والجنسية منها على وجه الخصوص، بمن فيهم كاهن القرية العجوز الذي تزوج فتاةً كاد يفوتها قطار الزواج، فاقترنت به، وكان هدفها الإنجاب أولاً، فأنجبت، ولكن... لم يمانع زوجها الكاهن من أن ينسب المولود إليه... كما أن نزاهته أملت عليه أن يعترف هو بدوره لزوجته أنها مظلومة معه، ولا تكافؤ بينهما.
ولم يتحقق التكافؤ إلا بالإقتران سراً، بالرجل "القادر" الذي أحبّته... ويأبى الحب إلا أن يشق طريقه الخاص، حين تنسدّ في وجهه الطرق المشروعة!...
مجموعة حالات ومشاكل وقصص، كل واحدة منها قصة قائمة بذاتها، وذات عبر شتى.
