موسوعة العطور هي أول موسوعة عربية شاملة لجميع أبحاث العطور وتاريخها وصناعتها وأسرارها. وهي تلقي النظرة الوافية أولاً على تاريخ العطور ومنشأها عبر التاريخ، وتتضمن تاريخ أول خلطة اخترعها المصريون، ثم تنتقل إلى تطور هذه الصناعة في العراق، وصولاً إلى شهرة الخليج العربي اليوم وعشقه لهذه الصناعة.
بعد ذلك، يتم استعراض أشهر العطور والخلطات في البلاد العربية والإفريقية، ففي العراق اشتهر طيب "الغالية" وطيب "الخلوق" في العصر العباسي. وفي سورية اشتهرت صناعة العطور الدمشقية، وتعتبر الوردة الدمشقية هي الأساس في تركيب العطور. وفي سلطنة عمان، يوجد أشهر البخور والعطور والطيب. وتعرف محافظة "ظفار" بإنتاج اللبان بكافة أنواعه، هو يعتبر أحد أهم أنواع البخور، ويستخدم في تحضير بعض أنواع العطور، ويعد طيب السايحة والدقة من أهم الخلطات العمانية العطرية.
كما إن جميع مناطق المملكة العربية السعودية غنية بالعادات والمناسبات التي تستعمل فيها الخلطات العطرية الشعبية. فالعود والجاوني واللبان المر والبشع والأظفر والسعد والمعسل والند والمعمول، من أشهر أنواع البخور في المملكة السعودية، ويتم بحث ودراسة العطور أيضاً في كل من السودان وزنجبار واليمن ومصر و...الخ.
بعد ذلك تأتي على ذكر أخبار وأبحاث منوعة عن العطور بشكل عام، وعطر المرأة ومستحضرات التجميل وآخر منتجات العطور الأجنبية بشكل خاص.
العود والبخور يحظى في هذه الموسوعة باهتمام خاص لما لهما من أهمية خاصة في حياة الأفراد تحديداً، وبالذات في بلدان الخليج العربي والشرق الأدنى كالهند والباكستان.
وبداية تحاول الموسوعة التعرف على العود وأنواعه وفوائد دهن العود الطبية، مرفقة بأبحاث وصور لأنواع العود وطريقة تحضيره.
