يأتي هذا الكتاب للإضاءة على سيرة الإمام "محمد الحسين الكاشف الغطاء" المولود سنة 1294 –والمتوفى سنة 1373هـ". وهو في مجموع صفحاته يضم كل ما ترشح من قلمه الشريف في حق كل واحد من الأئمة عليهم السلام، وسيدنا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، وفيه مجموع مقالات متفرقة وموضوعات مختلفة ورسائل موجزة وأجوبة من اسئلة في العقيدة تتضمن حل إشكال أو دحض باطل أو فك عقدة أو إثبات مطلب على الفوائد والمطالب الممتعة.
يمكن القول أن "محمد الحسين الكاشف الغطاء" من أشهر مشاهير علماء الإسلام في الشرق ومن أعاظم علماء الشيعة وأحد أركان الدين المجددين ورواد النهضة ودعاة الإصلاح ورجال العلم العراقيين.
يحتوي الكتاب على موضوعات عدة نذكر من أهمها: أخلاقه وغيرته على الإسلام والمسلمين، ما معنى قول النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لأمير المؤمنين عليه السلام إذا فاضت نفسي؟، خطبة الإمام كاشف الغطاء ليلة ولادة أمير المؤمنين، هل النار محرمة على ذرية الزهراء عليه السلام، الحسين كتاب الله التكويني؟، ما معنى (علماء أمتي كأنبياء بني اسرائيل؟)، حسين مني وأنا من حسين وجواب الشيخ كاشف الغطاء عن معناه، سؤال وحديث من رآنا فقد رآنا... إلى آخر ذلك من موضوعات رتبها وأعدها بمزيد من البحث والتنقيب والتحليل معد هذا الكتاب "محمد علي القاضي الطباطبائي".
