Book Description
يغطي المعجم علوم الفلسفة والمنطق والإجتماع والأخلاق والجمال والنفس والحقوق والإقتصاد والدين والسياسة، ويضم الألفاظ الأساسية في هذه العلوم، إتجاهاتها ومدارسها ومصطلحاتها وأعلامها.
وهو قامس لغوي وتفسيري، ففي مقابل اللفظ الروسي تأتي نظيره الإنكليزي والعربي، مع تعريف مكثف به، باللغة العربية.
وقد استخدمت في المعجم القواعد والإختصارات الشائعة، فوضعت علامة النجمة (*) دلالة على أن اللفظ العربي المشار إليه يرد في مكان آخر من الكتاب، فيمكن الرجوع إليه وفقاً لفهرس الألفاظ العربية.
وأما الإختصارات فهي: ت (توفي)، ح (حوالي)، قا (قارن)، ق (قرن)، ق م (قبل الميلاد)، م (ميلادي)، ر (راجع).
وفضلاً عن النظير الإنكليزي للفظ أوردنا أحياناً ما يقابله بلغات أخرى، رمزنا إليها بالأحرف التالية: D (ألمانية)، F (فرنسية)، G (يونانية)، L (لاتينية).
ويشير الرقم، المثبت بجانب اللفظ في الفهرس، إلى رقم ترتيبه في المعجم بحسب التسلسل بالروسية (وقد جات الأرقام 3211- 3310 على الصفحات 375 - 383 ثم تكررت على الصفحات 384- 392، فيكون عدد مقالات المعجم 4300، وعذراً).
ونظراً لإعتماد اللغة الروسية أساساً لبناء المعجم، كان لا بد، عند إنتقاء الألفاظ وشرحها، من مراعاة مدى إنتشارها في الأدبيات الروسية تحديداً، وقد انعكس هذا في كوننا قد اقتصرنا أحياناً على إيراد التعريف كما هو شائع في الروسية، دون التوقف عند المدلولات الأخرى التي قد تكون لنظير اللفظ بالإنكليزية أو العربية.
ولم نأت على المصطلحات والأعلام العربية، لإعتبارات حجم الكتاب وطابعه، كمعجم لغوي، أولاً، ولكون التعريفات المكثفة لألفاظ كهذه لن تشبع حاجة القارئ العربي، ثانياً.
