تناولت الباحثة في هذا الكتاب: تمهيداً عرفت فيه بمصطلح ( فقه اللغة )، وبينت أوائل من ألف في هذا الميدان، ثم قسمت البحث إلى فصلين: تحدثت في الفصل الأول عن خصائص العربية في مستوياتها الأربعة؛ الصوتية والصرفية والنحوية والدلالية. وتناولت في الفصل الثاني الحديث عن أصل اللغة ونشأة العربية، وبيَّنت لهجاتها وقت نزول القرآن والقراءات القرآنية التي جاءت على لغات العرب ولهجاتهم، كما بينت فيه حال اللغة العربية عند أهلها قديماً وحديثاً. وختمت الكتاب بجملة من الفهارس الفنية التي تعين على سهولة البحث فيه.
