يعتبر هذا الكتاب ذا فائدة علمية كبيرة وذلك لعدة وجوه: أولاً: من حيث المادة العلمية التي تناولها فيكمن القول: إنه جمع معظم أبواب أصول الفقه بصورة مختصرة وخاصة في المقدمة وهذه الخلاصة التي أوردها كافية للتعريف بأصول الفقه من حيث الجملة. ثانياً: من حيث مادته الرئيسية، وهو موضوع الإفتاء وما يتعلق به، يأتي هذا الكتاب مستوعباً لمعظم ما كتب تحت هذا الباب وخاصة أنه جمع مقدمة المجموع للإمام النووي والذي استخلصها كما ذكر من ثلاثة من الأئمة قبله، وهم القاضي أبو القاسم عبد الواحد بن الحسين الصيمري والخطيب البغدادي وشيخه ابن الصلاح، وكذلك روضة الطالبين وعمدة المفتين وكتاب الأحكام للقرافي وهي أهم ثلاث كتب اعتمد عليها وهي محل قبول لدى جميع العلماء.
ثالثاً: حفظ هذا الكتاب الكثير من أقوال الأئمة السابقين الذين فقدت كتبهم وجمعها من مواطن متفرقة في أبواب متناسقة بأسلوب دقيق وربط جيد. رابعاً: عرض مسألة في غاية الأهمية وهي مسألة مراعاة الخلاف وهي قاعدة مهمة ويمكن أن توسع في إطار قاعدة عامة أو نظرية يمكن من خلالها ضبط أهم القضايا المتعلقة بالاجتهاد والتقليد وهي تتبع الرخص والتلفيق والانتقال من مذهب إلى مذهب وهي مسائل تحتاج إلى مزيد تجلية وتوضيح.
خامساً: وفي خاتمة الرسالة عرض مسألة شائكة ما زال يثار حولها جدل كبير وهي مسألة الطلاق الثلاث بلفظ واحد ونقل المؤلف نقولات مطولة لتجلية هذه المسألة وهي أدلة واضحة وخاصة ما نقله عن الإمام النووي والحافظ ابن حجر والقرطبي والطحاوي.
