في كتابه "آباء النبي محمد (صلى الله عليه وسلم) من آدم إلى عبد الله سيرة مختصرة ورد شبهات" يسهم الكاتب حيدر إسماعيل في إعادة رسم تاريخ السيرة النبوية وتصحيحه ودفع الشبهات والخرافات التي طالته، متخذاً من وسيلة الدفاع عن آباء النبي منهجاً للبحث والدراسة واليقين، فجمع كل الأقوال وما يقابلها من شبهات من كتب الفرق الإسلاميَة، خصوصاً –كما يقول الكاتب- "إن بعض تلك الشبهات صارت من المسلمات في تاريخ ما قبل الإسلام أو في كتب السيرة" ، فوجد أن من العلماء من أجهد نفسه وخالف سلفه في نفي تهمة الشرك عن آباءه (صلى الله عليه وسلم) وهو ما نقله الكاتب لنا من أحاديث وأخبار وجدالات بين العلماء من المواقين أو المخالفين كما هي في مصادرها الأصلية ووزعها على أربعة فصول تشكل سيرة موجزة ودفع للشبهات التي طالت أباء الرسول (صلى الله عليه وسلم).
