إن الزكاة هي الركن الثالث من أركان الإسلام وهي عبادة مالية، لها أثر كبير على مستوى الفرد والمجتمع، وهي أحد أعمدة الإسلام الذي لا يقوم بناؤه إلا بها، لأنها واجب شرعي يحقق التكافل والتضامن والمواساة في المجتمع الإسلامي، وقد قامت بدور كبير في حلّ مشكلة الفقر في المجتمعات الإسلامية، والمسلمون اليوم بحاجة كبيرة للزكاة، وقد عضهم الفقر بنابه داعياً إلى إعادة تطبيق الزكاة لتقوم بدورها في معالجة الأوضاع المتردية التي يعيشها المسلمون، حتى إحتاجوا إلى ان يمدوا أيديهم إلى أعدائهم ليسدوا جوعهم، ويطعموا أيتامهم، ويداووا جراحهم، فأكلوا لقمتهم بكثير من الذل والهوان، مع أن أموالهم كثيرة وأغنياءهم كثر، وحق الله في أموال الأغنياء فيه غنى للفقراء، وتخفيف لمصابهم وآلامهم.
وتأتي هذه الأبحاث لتسهم في معالجة موضوعات متنوعة كلها في باب الزكاة، وكل هذه الأبحاث تعرض لأحكام الزكاة عبر أدلتها من الكتاب والسنّة، وتظهر الدور العظيم للزكاة التي فقهه علماؤنا قديماً في ضوء الكتاب والسنّة، كما تكشف عن أحكام الزكاة المستجدة اليوم على الساحة الإسلامية.
في هذا الكتاب مجموعة من الأبحاث الفقهية، تعالج قضايا اقتصادية تكثر الحاجة إليها والسؤال عنها، وقد قام بدراستها والبحث فيها ثلة من علماء الشريعة المشهود لهم في هذا الميدان، بعض هذه الأبحاث قدم في مؤتمرات أو ندوات علمية، وبعضها نشر في مجلات علمية. وقد فطن القائمون على دار النفائس إلى أن هذه الأبحاث إن بقيت متفرقة في أوراق المؤتمرات والندوات والمجلات التي قدمت لها هذه الأبحاث أو نشرت فيها، فإن الإفادةمنها تقل، لصعوبة الوصول إليها، ولذا عرضت على مؤلفيها أن تجمع في كتاب واحد، وبخاصة أن هناك رباطاً واحد يجمعها، وهو يتمثل في وحدة موضوعها، وقد استجاب المؤلفين الكرام لطلب الدار منهم، فكان هذا السفر العظيم الذي ضم هذه الأبحاث المتعمقة في مسائل تكثر حاجة الباحثين والدارسين وعموم المسلمين إليها.
