الأموال كلمة تطلق على الأشياء التي لها قيمة مالية وتكون قابلة للتملك. وفي التشريع اللبناني فإن كلمة مال، تشمل الأشياء والحقوق التي لها قيمة مالية، بحيث تكون قابلة للتملّك.
يبحث هذا الكتاب في الحقوق الشخصية والحقوق العينية. ولقد عرّفت المادة الأولى في قانون الموجبات والعقود اللبناني الصادر في 9/3/1932 الحق الشخصي بأنه رابطة قانونية تجعل لشخص أو لعدة أشخاص حقيقيين أو معنويين صفة المديون تجاه شخص أو عدة أشخاص يوصفون بالدائنين.
أما الحق العيني فيمكن تعريفه بأنه رابطة مباشرة بين شخص وشيء. وفي هذا الإطار يأتي البحث في الحقوق العينية العقارية الأصلية حيث تم البحث في الباب الأول منه في الأموال، وتصنيفها، ثم تصنيف الحقوق، والذمة المالية.
وفي الباب الثاني تم البحث في الحقوق العينية العقارية ومنها الحيازة، حق التصرّف على العقارات الأميرية، حق الملكية، الشيوع العادي، الشيوع الإجباري، حق الإنتفاع، حق الإجارة العينية، وحق الإرتفاق.
كتاب هام، يفيد منه رجال القانون من قضاة ومحامين، وكذلك الطلاب في لبنان والعالم العربي، جهد مؤلفاه على تضمينه جميع الإجتهادات الحديثة والمبدئية في القانون المدني في لبنان وفرنسا، وكذلك الآراء الفقهية الجديرة بالإهتمام، إضافة إلى عدم إغفالهما بعض مشاريع القوانين واقتراحاتها التي تهم المسؤولين في السلطة السياسية.
