تندرج دراسة "الحوزى والمجتمع التفاعل والتكامل" تحت علم الإجتماع الديني الذي يعنى بدراسة المجتمعات الدينية والكتاب الذي بين أيدينا دراسة اجتماعية تعنى بهذه الظاهرة وخصصت لدراسة (شيعة الأحساء والقطيف) وعلاقتهم بالمؤسسة الدينية.
ينتهج المؤلف منهجاً نقدياً تحليلياً لقضية يعتبرها من أهم القضايا التي يعيشها مجتمعه وهي إشكالية العلاقة بين الحوزة والمجتمع وأنماطها وظواهرها. حيث يكشف من خلالها عن نقاط القوة والضعف في المجتمع المدروس، وكيف يمكن معالجة نقاط الضعف وتحويلها إلى نقاط قوة، وكيف يستطيع هذا المجتمع ان يحافظ على ما لديه من نقاط قوة وتوظيفها سلمياً. من هنا جاءت هذه الدراسة بهدف التعرف على عقلية هذا المجتمع ونظم تفكيره وعاداته وتقاليده وبيئته وتاريخه وكذلك الأيديولوجيات والفلسفات التي يؤمن بها ومتى آمن بها؟ والتغييرات التي طرأت عليها والتي سوف تفسر كثيراً واقع هذا المجتمع وفق اسس علمية رصينة.
جاء الكتاب في فصلين: مقدمة عن أهمية الدراسة؛ وفصلان: أما الفصل الأول فهو يحمل عنوان: الحوزة العلمية الملامح والصفات (النظام التعليمي والإداري) وأما الفصل الثاني فهو يحمل عنوان: الحوزة والمجتمع (توضيح إشكالية العلامة بين الحوزة والمجتمع وترشيد العلاقة بينهما من خلال تعريف كل طرف بواجبه تجاه الآخر.
