"السلام" هو عنوان هذا الجزء من معجم التراث والذي ضمنه المؤلف نصوصاً من الأدب العربي الحي تعبر عن تراث السلاح، وبالقوة المنهجية نجده قد سار في إعداده على النحو التالي:
1-كتابة إسم العينة مفرداً مشكلاً بالإعراب حسب ما ورد في الأدب الشعبي وفي السّماع، وكذلك كتابة الجمع.
2-إيراد طائفة من نصوص الأدب الشعبي التي تتحدث عن هذه العينة مشكولة حسب السّماع.
3-كتابة إسم العينة مرة ثانية بلغة فصحى والتحدث عنها بلغة فصحى، وصفاً وإستعمالاً ومادة.
4-توثيق البحث من المعاجم اللغوية العربية والأدب العربي القديم. أما العينة التي إسمها غير عربي فموثوقة من القواميس التركية والفارسية. وسيلاحظ القارئ أن معظم هذه الأسماء عربية فصيحة. وبعد هذه الفقرة توضع صورة العينة.
5-وعندما تتوفر نصوص من الأدب الشعبي الجيدة التي تتحدث عن العينة فيوضع عنواناً هو: "ومن جيد ماقيل في كذا". ثم دون هذه النصوص بعده. وقد إلتزمت بالإيجاز والإختصار في هذا الكتاب غير أن ما دوّنَ عن كل عينة من العينات كاف للتعريف بها.
ويرجى أن تكون قد تحققت رغبة القارئ في ما تتبع للتعريف بهذا التراث ووفرت عليه شيئاً من وقته في عدم الإسهاب. وقد خصص هذا الجزء من هذا القاموس للسلاح، وقد حفل الأدب العربي الفصيح وكذلك الأدب الشعبي بهذا التراث وصفاً وتمجيداً، وقد تضمن هذا الكتاب كثيراً من نصوص الأدب التي تعبرعن هذا التراث.
يتناول هذا الكتاب أسماء الأسلحة القديمة وأدواتها وعتادها، ويوردها لنا حسب حروف الهجاء مستشهداً بما قيل حولها من أشعار وأقوال، ثم يورد لنا الكتاب صوراً لبعض تلك الأسلحة.
