"تبدو هذه الدراسة فيما يظهر منها للوهلة الأولی أنها جاءت لإعادة تظهير نظريات علماء أصول الفقه في الظهور وفهم الخطاب، والوقوف علی سُنن الألسن في التواصل والتفاهم، وتبادل الخبرات. وهذا هدفٌ جليل، وجهد مبارک إذا أتی بمستوی استحقاقات خطورة علم أصول الفقه، ومتطلبات تحديات وإشکاليات المعرفة المعاصرة، لکنه ليس الهدف الأساس لهذه الدراسة. إلا أن المؤلف أراد أن ينقل ميدان التحديات المعاصرة للفکر الديني إلی ميدانها الطبيعي، وأن يستجيب ميدان البحث في علم أصول الفقه إلی استيعاب هذه التحديات؛ لأنه ميدانها، فعليه أن يتحمل غُرم أعبائها المضنية، من خلال فهمٍ جدير واستيعابٍ نقدي، يليق بتاريخ هذا العلم وجلال حرية الرأي فيه. إنها تحديات قراءة النصوص، وتلقيها والاستجابة لها، فيما عُرف اليوم بالتأويلية ومدارس النقد الحديث. ذلک أن علم أصول الفقه في الحقب المتأخرة من تاريخ المعرفة الدينية له غُنمُ إعطاء الشرعية لکل تجديدٍ مؤسس في حقول المعرفة الدينية عامة، فضلًا عن الفقه وأصول استنباطه، فکيف إذا جاءت إشکالية التأويل والنقد في الصميم، تمسّ قواعد الاستنباط الفقهي والدرس العقائدي وعامة حقول المعرفة الدينية!
