ضمَّــتْ المجموعة القصصية الأولى للقاص أيمن يوسف بين دفتيْـها خمسة عشر قصة وفق ترتيب زمنيّ ، بدءً بالأقدم فالأحدث ، لتتيح للقارئ فرصة اكتشاف المستوى التصاعدي للقاصّ ، حيث إنَّ القصص مكتوبة في الأعوام 2004 ، 2005 و 2006م ، و قد أشارَ المؤلف إلى أنَّــه ارتكب إعادة خمس قصص كان قد كتبها في العام 2003م ، و ذلــك في " وشوشته " للقارئ .
القصص الخمسة عشر حملتْ عناوين (أحاسيس صحراويَّـة ، أهازيج القمر ، فوانيس شاحبة ، بين حيرتين .. غابات أسئلة ، عواصف خاسرة ، الشتاء يحترق وجدا ً، الضفة الأخرى من الوهـم ، شذا الأيَّــــــــــام ، حقائب الدهشــــــة ، مدائن الحنين ، مرافئ السـِّـحر ، ليلة البــُـهـْـر ، أسفار الجحيم ، أبجديّـة الوجــع و طوفان الضـِّـيـاء ) ، و تناولتْ مواضيع شتى بتقنيات سرديَّــة متنوعة ، و بلغة شعريَّــة تؤكــِّـد على نظرة القاصّ تجاه اللغة في القصة الحديثة ، و هـو ما جعل من الدكتور منذر عياشي الناقد و المترجم المعروف يتساءل لدى تقـديمه للمجموعة عن البعد الفاصل بين القصة عند القاصّ و القصيدة الحديثة.
ومن أجواء المجموعة نقرأ: "تابعت تقدمي، ابتعد عن مكامن الخطر إلى الأماكن الأقل خطراً، الحجارة تتساقط. يسقط قلبي في بركان الخوف. أقشعر هلعاً. أمد يدي إلى ألأعلى لأتشبث بشيء ما فتصطدم بشيء حاد. تنزف يدي اليسرى، وتجف رغبتي في الوصول. أنزلق، عقب تمسكي بغصن قوي توقفت عن الانزلاق. نظرت إلى يدي في ضوء القمر فوجدت بحر الجرح من بين إصبعي السبابة والوسطى مروراً بما يسمى خط الحياة في كفي. لا أعلم السبب، غير أن الألم يتناسل. فكرة التراجع تعاودني. نظرت إلى الأسفل. قطعت مسافة كبيرة، على أن باقة من العيون كانت تومض. أسحت عنها، وتنهدت زافراً: "الصعود صعب.. حد صعب!!".
قلت هذا مع أني شخصياً كنت أدرك أن لا شيء صعب. هل أخبركم لماذا؟"
