مصنف هذه الرسائل الثلاث التي يحتوي هذا الكتيب على نص لها هو الأستاذ أبو القاسم عبد الكريم بن محمد القشيري الخراساني النيسابوري الشافعي الأشعري الصوفي المفسر، وهو من مواليد سنة خمس وسبعين وثلاث مئة هـ، عرف عنه التفقه بأمور الدين والإلمام بعلوم التفسير والحديث، كما وعرف عنه العلم بكتابة الشعر والاشتغال بالوعظ والتحذير.
والرسائل التي يحويها هذا الكتيب هي خلاصة ما دونه في العقيدة الإسلامية، الرسالة الأولى جاءت بعنوان "بلغة المقاصد"، أما الرسالة الثانية فحملت عنوان لمع في الاعتقاد. أما الرسالة الثالثة فهي عبارة عن مقدمة كان قد دونها على رسالته المشهورة التي صنفها في الكلام على رجال التصوف وأحوالهم وأخلاقهم، حيث ابتدأ رسالته ببيان عقيدة أهل التصوف وقولهم في مسائل التوحيد وهذه الرسالة الثالثة جاءت بعنوان عقيدة أهل التصوف وقولهم في مسائل التوحيد. ومما تجدر الإشارة إليه هو أن هذه الرسائل الثلاث قد تم جمعها في هذا الكتيب الصغير المختصر وذلك لتسهيل مطالعتها من قبل القراء ولتسهيل حملها من قبلهم في السفر والترحال.
