يأتي جديد الشاعر العراقي لطيف هلمت الشعري من تراكم خبرته وكثافة تجربته الأدبية وتطويرها الزمني الدراماتيكي الذي نقرأ فلسفته في "الريح لا تصادق أحداً" في هذا الفضاء الشعري تنمو قصائد هلمت في مناخات من التوتر الذاتي في اقترانه بعذابات الآخر الجمعي وتفعيل رؤى المؤثر بالإشارة إلى بلد الشاعر "كركوك" في ظل النظام الأسبق "لكثرة ما تعرضت الأرض للاحتراق/ ليس غريباً/ أن تنمو على القمم/ أشجار اللهيب...!/ لكثرة ما رشقت الأرض/ بالطلقات/ ليس غريباً أن تثمر الشجرة باروداً...!". إن الشاعر لطيف هلمت يتأمل المشهد الكوني وكارثية حلم العالم بالسلام وحلمه الشخصي أيضاً، وبنفس الوقت يبدو أكثر تعلقاً بالحياة وتبرز هذه المعاني عبر منظومة من الملفوظات الذهنية والتأملية في شعره وهو ينقل للقارئ ما يجري حوله. وهنا يتساءل الشاعر ويقول: سؤالان:/ 1- أشجار هي/ تنمو على أرصفة سوارع الأرض/ أم فقراء؟/ 2- جروح هي/ تتمدَد على سطح الأرض/ أم شوارع؟" من هنا نعرف حجم الوجع والأنين الذي يحمله الشاعر بين ضلوعه والذي سيتضح من الإشارات النصية في معظم قصائد المجموعة.
يضم الكتاب قصائد متنوعة في الشعر العربي الحديث نذكر من عناوينها: "العاصفة"، "الأمل"، تمثال آخر"، "الحلم الضائع"، "الموت"، الشاعر"، "شجرة النار"، "السكر"، "الريح"، "حفر"، "العصير"، "منظران وموقف واحد"... وقصائد أخرى.
