يعتبر التحليل الكيرالي للملوثات البيئية علم حديث بعض الشيء، كما أنه جذب انتباه العلماء الشغوفين بالتخصص في السمية في البيئات المختلفة. حوالي 25% من الكيماويات الزراعية كيرالية في الطبيعة، ويشمل ذلك المبيدات الحشرية المستخدمة. ومن أجل تعيين سُمية الملوِّث فإن تقدير تركيز كل المتماكبات في المواد المتحصل عليها من البيئة تعتبر ضرورية وأساسية. هناك العديد من المحاولات التي أجريت لدراسة انحلال المركبات الكيرالية، ولكن هذا الكتاب يقدم تفصيلا كاملا للطرق المستخدمة لفصل هذه الملوثات الكيرالية. هذا الكتاب مقسَّم إلى عشرة فصول: الفصل الأول عبارة عن مقدمة عن أساسيات الكيرالية، أما الفصول من الثاني إلى التاسع فإنها تناقش المصادر والتوزيع والتحلل الحيوي والسُمية، وتحضير العينات المتحصل عليها من الملوثات الكيرالية بواسطة الطرق الكروماتوجرافية والتشريد الكهربائي. إضافة إلى ذلك، تم توصيف واختيار أفضل الظروف العملية بتطبيق الطرق الكروماتوجرافية وطرق التشريد الكهربائي، مما جعل هذا الكتاب من الأهمية بمكان فيما يختص بالتحليل الكيرالي للملوثات. أما الفصل العاشر فعبارة عن ملخص عن القوانين العالمية المختصة بالمركبات الكيرالية ووجهات النظر التي قد تقود البحث المستقبلي في هذا المجال.
