جاءت الشريعة الإسلامية الغرّاء تامةً نقيةً صافية، وما فتىء أهل العلم يسهرون على حفظها وصيانتها من أنْ ترنّقها البدع والأهواء، سواءٌ في العقائد أو العبادات أو الأخلاق، وجاهدوا في ذلك بالقلم واللسان، متّبعين ميزاناً عادلةً في تمييز المحدَث من المسنون، وخلّفوا في ذلك تراثاً كبيراً نافعاً. ومن ذلك التراث القيّم رسالةٌ لإمام من أكابر الحنفية في عصره، هو العلامة الإمام نور الدين علي بن غانم المقدسي، المتوفى بالقاهرة سنةَ 1004هجرية، كتبها في بيان بدعية الصلاة المسمّاة «صلاةَ الرغائب»، التي تصلَّى في شهر رجب، لـمّـا رأى انتشارَ أمر هذه الصلاة المبتدَعة بين الناس، مصدِّراً رسالته ببيان معنى البدعة عند العلماء المحققين، ثم ساق نصوص فقهاء المذاهب في بيان بدعية صلاة الرغائب تلك، وحججهم الناهضة في ذلك، مشيراً إلى مَن أفرد حُكمَها بالتأليف من الأئمة. فجاءت رسالته هذه نافعةً محرَّرة. وقد اعتمد المحقق الفاضل في إخراج نصّها على أربعة أصولٍ خطية، وعلّق عليها بما تمس إليه الحاجة من خدمةٍ وبيان.
