كتابٌ في الحديث يتضمن الاحاديث التي وردت في صحيح مسلم مرفقة مع شرحها الذي وضعه الامام الحافظ جلال الدين السيوطي مما يُسهّل فهم الاحاديث على المسلمين.
وقد تميز هذا الشرح الرائع بتناوله الألفاظ التي يحتاج القارئ إلى معرفة معناها، وضبط هذه الألفاظ وإيراد اللهجات على قلتها فيه وترجيح اللفظ الذي ينبغي أن ينطق، وتوضيح الغريب، وأبان فيه السيوطي عن المبهم، وأعرب المشكل، وجمع بين ما ظاهره الاختلاف، وأورد بعض الفوائد نقلاً عن الحافظ النووي، وأكثر عنه وعن القاضي عياض وعن المازري وعن القرطبي، وهم من الذين سبقوه ولهم قدم وساق في شرح صحيح الإمام مسلم، وأورد السيوطي أيضاً بعض الإشكالات الواردة وأجاب عنها بأجوبة من سبقوه، وأحياناً ينفرد بجواب خاص به في بعض الأحيان.
وهذه الجوانب كلها لم يسهب السيوطي في عرضها مع تشعبها، ولكننا نراه كربان سفينة يستخدم كل طاقته ليصل بركابه إلى الأمان، لذا فقد استخدم أسلوباً مختصراً، نصل به إلى المفهوم بدون تشويش، ونثل به إلى الفائدة بدون خلط فلم يعرضنا إلى الأقوال المتراكمة، والمعاني المتراصة المتباينة.
ونقول أيضاً: إنه مع اختصاره لم يخل بالمقام وهو كونه شارحاً لصحيح الإمام مسلم بل كان شرحه على اختصاره وافياً بالمقام فيما نرى، منتهياً بنا إلى المراد والمقصود بدون أن نشعر بملل أو خلل.
