"متظاهراً بالصمت" منمناً سردية للكاتب يحي بن محمد العلكي تمسك باللحظات العابرة للزمن، منها ما هو خاص، ومنها ما هو عام يلامس قضايا حياتية وهموم معيشية للناس، وهو يفعل ذلك في طرح عميق، ورؤية واضحة، مشغولة برمزية فنية يتمازج فيها فعل الروي والتشكيل، بمعنى أن العلكمي هنا يشكل منمنماته كمن يرسم لوحة، لوحة من الوجوه والمناظر والأشكال؛ التي ما تلبث أن تلقي بظلالها على المتلقي ليصبح هو والمشهد في توحدٍ تام تحت عنوان "حالة" نقرأ: "اليوم يغيب عن المكتب أدنى ما فيه .. وجوه الموظفين كدفاتر رسم تنتظر الريشة .. إبتسم إبتسموا .. عبس عبسوا .. حاول أن .. استجابوا دون أن يعرفوا .. اليوم فحسب كانت الدفاتر مملوءة رسوماً مختلفة "لأن ورقة صارمة قد أزاحت سعادة المدير وغيّبته عن المكتب". وعلى هذا الدرب تسير منممات الكاتب، وتنتقل من مشهد إلى آخر بتلقائية، ووفقاً لمقتضيات اللعبة الفنية السردية وما تستدعيه من تفاصيل، أما اللغة المستخدمة فهي سهلة، ولا تتورع عن ممارسة نوع من التصوير الكاريكاتوري الساخر أحياناً، الذي يرصد حركات الشخوص، التي تحيل إلى حالة ما ، ما يبرز قدرة الكاتب على إخراج مشاهده بإطار حديث من حيث الشكل والمضمون.
