لقد خلف الصحابة رضوان الله عليهم ثروة حقيقية للتشريع الاسلامي، تجلت في امرين: الاول: المنهج الذي يوضح موارد الاحكام، وطرق الاستدلال، واستخراج افروع من الاصول. الثاني: الفروع الفقهية التي افتوا بها، فكانت بمثابة تطبيق عملي للمنهج وشاهداً عليه، وموضحاً له. لقد ادرك هؤلاء الاصحاب عهد النبوة وشاهدوا التنزيل، فكثيراً ما تنزل الاحكام تعقيباً على احداث جرت لهم، فعاينوها وادركوا حقيقة حالها، ففهموا من النصوص ما لم يفهمه غيرهم على تمامه، واذا قرن الى هذا الفهم صفاء نفوسهم، وجودة قريحتهم، ونقاء فطرتهم، ادركنا مدى اهمية هذه الاجتهادات بالنسبة لمن ياتي بعدهم. ولهذا كله، ورغبة مني في ابراز دور الصحابة رضوان الله عليهمفي التشريع وتطوره ومصادره، احببت ان ادلي بدلوي، مع قصر باعي، وقلة زادي، عساي ان اجلي غامضاً، واؤلف بين متفرقات في بطون الكتب، والفت الانتباه الى ذخائر التشريع الاسلامي ونفائسه، لا سيما ونحن في عصر شديد الحاجة الى هذه الذخائر والنفائس. ولقد شرعت بتاليف هذا البحث تحت عنوان "اجتهادات الصحابة"، وقسمته الى ابواب وفصول ومطالب، كما بينته في خطة البحث.
